Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of the CHO app, website, discovery, community, ticketing, organizer tools, and early-access waitlist.
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Accepting these terms
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and CHO Africa Limited ("CHO", "we", "us", or "our"). By using CHO or joining the waitlist, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the services or submit the waitlist form.
Beta access
CHO is currently in beta on iOS and Android. Features, supported cities, and access may change as we test and improve the service. You may encounter bugs, interruptions, or features that are not yet available. Keep your app updated and report problems to hello@joincho.com.
Beta access does not guarantee a launch date or continued availability of a feature. It does not remove your rights relating to paid tickets, refunds, personal data, or applicable consumer protection law.
Using CHO
You must be at least 18 to use the CHO beta. You must also meet any higher age requirement set by an event or venue. CHO helps people discover outings, spaces, communities, and ticketed experiences. You are responsible for the information you submit and for keeping your account secure. Use accurate account, organizer, and ticket information. Do not share sign-in codes or use someone else's account. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
Tickets, payments, and refunds
Ticket prices, availability, refund windows, and event details may be set by organizers. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers identified at checkout. Review the event, ticket conditions, total price, and any disclosed fees before paying. A payment attempt or payment screenshot is not a confirmed ticket; CHO verifies payment before issuing paid tickets. A listing without ticket options does not mean admission is free or that a place is reserved.
Refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, and failed payments may require additional review. Refund eligibility depends on the terms shown when you booked and your rights under applicable law. Beta status does not make a payment non-refundable. Contact the organizer or hello@joincho.com with your order reference if an event is cancelled, changed, or your payment does not produce a ticket. Refund processing also depends on the payment provider and your bank; we do not promise an instant refund.
Keep ticket QR codes private and follow the event's entry and age requirements. Unless CHO is identified as the organizer, the listed organizer is responsible for delivering the event and managing admission. CHO remains responsible for its own services and obligations under law.
Organizer responsibilities
- Provide accurate event details, prices, locations, age limits, safety requirements, and refund terms.
- Honor valid tickets, manage admission fairly, and comply with applicable laws and venue rules.
CHO may suspend organizer access for fraud, repeated disputes, safety concerns, or policy violations.
Content and discovery
You keep ownership of content you submit, but you allow CHO to host, display, and moderate it as needed to operate the service. This is a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence; you keep your ownership rights. Public listings may also be shared to promote those listings. Private messages are not licensed for public advertising. Photos, profile content, listings, and community messages must be truthful, lawful, respectful, and relevant.
Space ratings are assigned by CHO. User space ratings and review submissions are not available in this version. Organizer-authored listing tags are not independently verified facts.
Taste helps you discover permitted CHO listings. Check listing details before making plans or buying tickets; discovery results do not guarantee an event or venue will meet your needs. Taste uses AI and can misunderstand requests or give incomplete results. Confirm dates, prices, accessibility, entry requirements, and availability with the listing or organizer before relying on a recommendation.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist is free and records your interest in CHO. It does not guarantee early access, an invitation, a particular launch date, availability in your city, or that any announced feature will be released. We may manage, pause, close, or discontinue the waitlist as the product develops.
Your information
You agree to provide accurate information that belongs to you and to keep your email account secure. You must have the legal capacity or required permission to accept these terms and submit personal data. How we handle that data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Communications
We send account, security, payment, ticket, and other service messages needed to provide CHO. You can manage device notification permissions in your settings. When you join the waitlist, we may send a confirmation and messages needed to administer the waitlist, including early-access or launch-availability updates. We will ask separately before sending unrelated promotional marketing. You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist by emailing hello@joincho.com.
Acceptable use
You must follow our Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use, which form part of these terms. They explain prohibited content and conduct, responsibilities for honest listings and safe events, how to report a concern, and how enforcement decisions can be reviewed.
Ownership
The CHO name, branding, app and website design, copy, and other materials are owned by or licensed to CHO and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership to you. Use CHO for its intended purposes.
Third-party services
CHO may rely on or link to third-party services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party content or services that we do not control.
Availability and responsibility
The services are provided on an as-available basis. We work to keep information accurate and the service available, but an early-stage service may change, experience interruptions, or contain errors.
To the extent permitted by law, CHO is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of, or inability to use, CHO. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right, remedy, warranty, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian consumer protection or other applicable law.
Suspension or removal
We may restrict access or remove accounts, listings, tickets, organizer tools, or waitlist entries where reasonably necessary to protect CHO, other users, or the service; investigate abuse; comply with law; or enforce these terms. You may request account deletion through Account & Data in the app or ask to leave the waitlist at any time. Deleting an account does not itself cancel a purchase or settle a pending refund or dispute. Contact us about active tickets or outstanding payments when requesting deletion. If you believe a restriction was mistaken, contact hello@joincho.com so we can review it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the services develop. The current version and update date will appear here. If a material change affects existing users, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice before it takes effect where required.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be handled by a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria, subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
