Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use
Help keep outings safe, honest, and welcoming. These rules apply to everyone using CHO, including attendees, organizers, and people sharing content or messages.
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Scope and agreement
These guidelines form part of CHO Africa Limited's Terms of Service. They apply to profiles, images, videos, event listings, community plans, messages, tickets, and use of Taste and organizer tools. The CHO beta is for people aged 18 and over. An event or venue may set a higher minimum age.
Respect other people
- Do not harass, threaten, stalk, bully, or encourage violence against anyone.
- Do not post hate speech or promote discrimination based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Do not share another person's private information, images, or messages without permission, or use CHO for unwanted sexual contact.
- Do not impersonate another person, organization, or CHO team member.
Prohibited content and activities
- Do not upload or promote child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, or sexually explicit content.
- Do not promote illegal goods or services, trafficking, terrorism, violent extremism, or instructions intended to cause harm.
- Do not encourage suicide, self-harm, or dangerous activities that put others at risk.
- Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, including copyrighted images or another person's personal data.
Honest listings and tickets
Do not create fake events, misleading promotions, fraudulent ticket offers, or deceptive payment requests. Describe prices, fees, availability, venues, age limits, and entry conditions accurately. Do not forge, duplicate, or misuse ticket QR codes or claim a payment was completed when it was not.
Organizers must have the authority to offer their events and use their venues, comply with applicable laws and safety requirements, honor valid tickets and published policies, and communicate material changes or cancellations to affected attendees. Do not misrepresent CHO's endorsement or use private attendee information for unrelated purposes.
Protect the service
Do not send spam, manipulate participation or listings, evade account restrictions, or use automation to abuse CHO. Do not introduce malicious code, collect data through unauthorised scraping, access someone else's account, or bypass access controls. Do not use Taste to seek prohibited content or expose private information. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately to hello@joincho.com without accessing or sharing other users' data.
Report a concern
Email hello@joincho.com with the subject “CHO safety report”. You can also use the safety-report option in the app's Support screen, which opens an email request. Include the relevant event or account, what happened, and when. Include an order reference if relevant, but never passwords, sign-in codes, full card details, or unnecessary private information.
Do not download or forward illegal material to make a report. Describe where it appeared instead. CHO support is not an emergency service; if someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency services.
Enforcement and review
We may investigate reports, request clarification, remove content, restrict features or organizer access, or suspend or terminate accounts where reasonably necessary. The response depends on the seriousness of the issue, its impact, and repeated violations. Serious abuse may result in immediate restrictions. We may preserve relevant evidence and disclose it where required by law, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
If you believe an action was mistaken, email hello@joincho.com with your account email, the affected content or event, and why you are requesting a review. Enforcement does not remove applicable rights relating to payments, refunds, or personal data.
Updates and contact
We may update these guidelines as CHO develops. Material changes will be communicated as described in the Terms of Service. Questions about these rules can be sent to hello@joincho.com.
